COMPASSION

I have been creating these small studies in oil....and enjoying every minute.  In the next few weeks I will post a few for you to see.  This one is Titled "compassion", at 6 X 4 oil, rice, on wood of course.  This study took me three hours to find the corrected perspective that feels right.  I'm always looking to exhibit a scene that seems a bit ambiguous and relative to more viewers.  This image depicts a couple hugging and the challenge that I wanted to tackle the most was the idea of developing a dense base and a nice negative space around the image; allowing a focal point of the face and the hand clench.
