Fore is a non-thematic group presentation reflecting a multitude of ideas, approaches and processes. Featuring twenty-nine emerging artists of African descent living and working in the United States, the exhibition brings a new generation into the forefront of visual and critical dialogue.

This show is a that the Studio Museum of Harlem puts on every year where they compile some of the best artist in America.  I am very proud to know Nate Young from Saint Paul area one of the dynamic artist featured in this show.  If you have an opportunity to please do go see this show.

Kenyatta Hinkle had a great show at The Bindery Project two weeks ago and it was a smashing success.On her bio she describes herself: Multimedia Interdisciplinary artist Kenyatta A.C. Hinkle was born in the West End of Louisville, KY in 1987. In 2009 she received her BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Painting where she studied traditional African Art forms with Dr. Leslie King Hammond, which had a profound impact on her work. She is also an Alumni of the New York Studio mobility Program in 2008. Hinkle’s passion for cultural awareness through community arts has led her to work with various communities in Baltimore City and Brooklyn, NY promoting self-esteem and empowerment for youth through the arts.

Hinkle is the recipient of many awards and honors including the prestigious Jacob K. Javits Fellowship for Graduate Study, National Scholastic Silver Portfolio Award, and the Emerging Leader Award from the Maryland Institute College of Art. In 2007 and 2008 Hinkle received full scholarships through the Maryland Institute College of Arts Office of Admissions and the Mentoring Network for travel to Spain, Morocco, and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for independent research concerning cultural identity and perception.
